Business make up: “The workshop”

A few days a go I held my first workshop, and I have to say that it was a great pleasure having all these lovely ladies attending!

Although  it was for limited numbers, I had a full house and from the feedback that I was given everybody seemed to enjoy it.

The techniques that were shown can be found on my previous post.

 Let the workshop begin…

Having the right palettes always helps….

Natural make up shouldn’t be hard to do.. in just a few minute I managed to transform 6 beautiful ladies….

Doesn’t she look beautiful, fresh and natural?…

Spending under 10 minutes to do your make up means that you have the right brushes and know how to use them… the ladies that attended the workshop now know how to do that!

Fresh, flawless, and young… these are the results that natural tones give you

Depending on your skin tone you can use pinks, light browns, golden browns, just play with what you have to get the desired result

If you want to apply bronzer use a small brush to have control and always start with less

Fresh, young, and flawless…. natural make up…..

I hope you enjoyed xx

In my make up bag

I have always been asked by friends about the products that I like using, so today I am letting you have a small sneak peak  :-)

eye shadows and blusher

I have a great variety of eye shadows, blushers and of course lipsticks!!

My eye – shadows usually vary from MAC, Crown Brushes, Bourjouis, Body Shop and Lancome. I usually tend to have my basic colours, such as pastel beige and natural tones and of course my different shades of brown for a natural day look. I love a clean and natural look and I always go for a pastel pink or a pastel beige with a combination of matte brown eye shadow in the mornings. Matte eye shadows are easy to use and they are back! We don’t need too much shine and bling when we are working hard!

For night time we are aloud to go all wild and when I feel like it I tend to do that, it’s my time to shine! ;-)

When it comes down to my blushers I am a fan of Crown brushes and BOBBI BROWN!

My beautiful blushers

I have a quite fair skin, (all my friends will care to prove it, I don’t tan easily, and I always have to be careful with sun) this is why I tend to go for blusher that last and add some colour to cute little face.

These blushers do tend to last, especially when working long days and reapplying your make up is luxury!  Although I always suggest re- applying our make up but some time it is very difficult to do so. I have been through difficult days as such, when having lunch is a luxury not thinking about your blusher! anyways…

I tend to go for pink shades such as the famous healthy pink, (this name does not exist on a blusher at least I haven’t come across it, if you have please let me know) I just call it like that because whenever I wear it I have that healthy glow of a 5 years old! Healthy pink is the second blusher on the left on the top row. I love it.

In my hand bag I usually carry my concealer and by blusher, and especially during summer time I love wearing my favourite BOBBI BROWN blusher: pale pink.

My lipsticks vary, from MAC, Bourjouis, Max factor, Maybiline, Lancome, Estee Lauder, and I love subtle colours and reds

I hope that helped you a bit.

You don’t need quantity you just need variety!

always here to answer your questions!

Should I or Should I not ….?

Brushes.. brushes…. brushes… and some more brushes….
I am sure that every time you have visited a beauty store you have been surprised by the amount of brushes these make up artists have hanging around their waist!! You have probably wondered what do they really need them all!!!??
Why so many brushes when you have your fingers to apply make up??… and
why invest in so many brushes when you get some free when you buy your bronzer or your eye shadow??!!
Today I am planning to answer to all these questions and save you some money…. because these brushes can cost! After all, you don’t really need them all!

Foundation brush
The foundation brush!

There are two types of foundations brushes and you can see them below:

Flat

Round

I personally am a big fun of the second one (round) I find it a lot better and easier to use.

Now, why use a foundation brush and not your fingers?

The secret in using a foundation brush is that you tend to use less product, which has three  benefits:

  • Your foundation lasts for longer
  • You don’t end up looking like you have applied a lot of foundation
  • You succeed a more natural and clear look.

You can also use this brush to correct and smooth out your bronzer or blusher if you have applied more than you had too.

This brush is like your magic wand! You can fix your imperfections and you will get so used to it when you start to use it that you would start wondering how you dealt with out it all this time!

The magic number for eye shadow brushes for a non professional is the number 3, if you are a professional… the more the merrier
1. You need a brush as your blending brush and also for applying your base colour.
This brush is a little bigger as it needs to cover a bigger area of the eye cup and work as a blending brush at the end giving you that smokey and edgeless look.
 2. You will also need your angle brush – this brush will help you master the smokey look as well as help you be more precise in whatever look you wish to have.
3. Last but not least you will need a very fine brush for lines. You can use it instead of an eye liner and you will find it to be more accurate and easy to use.
I advise you not to use your fingers nor the small brushes that come free with your make up, as they don’t give you good control and you end up using more products than you have to.
Blusher brush
The blusher brush is something that every woman should own. Try and have two, one to keep in your make up bag at home and a small one that you can always carry around to re apply your blusher… it is the first that comes off…
Best of luck my ladies and remember to have fun when applying your make up!
My brushes vary from Mac, Kryolan, The Body Shop and Crown Brushes.
